If you're heading to an EliteXC fight in September or October, tell 'em Court sent you.

Local middleweight favorite Court "The Crusher" McGee is still awaiting details on who, when and where, but the organization has told him he's got a fight in the near future. McGee expects to have more information Friday.

"I don't think I'll be on the main card, but I'll be on the undercard," he said.

McGee has been offered fights with other bigger organizations, such as King of the Cage, but had not been able to get licensed in the host states. That shouldn't be a problem this time around. Things are smoother since McGee tried out for his Los Angeles-based manager's fight team. Needless to say, he impressed.

"I did pretty well. I think I smashed everybody on the team," he said.

McGee will have at least seven weeks to get ready for whomever he fights. A local Throwdown bout against UFC and IFL alumni Alex Schoenauer may or may not happen depending on who you talk to. But McGee is expecting to have the next four or five weeks to train in Utah and then head to California for two or three weeks to train with the likes of Discovery Channel's "Fight Quest" host and jiu-jitsu specialist Jimmy Smith and journeyman fighter John "The Bull" Marsh.

There may be a multi-fight deal in the works, but regardless, McGee hopes to impress enough in his first fight to secure his place in future EliteXC cards.

"I just want to go in and make a good show," he said.

Which is exactly what Utah fans have come to expect.

Why couldn't he get licensed in the states for the other shows?
