Heavyweights

1. Sal Sanchez

2. Ty Lee

3. Sita Ripley

4. Jesus Herrera

5. Lima Pule

Note. Most of the top heavyweights have been inactive for a significant amount of time so this list is largely speculative

155 Lightweight

1. Birddog

2. Steve Sharp

3. Shane Brenner

4. Rad Martinez

5. Dustin Collins

On the other hand, all of these lightweights are currently active and ready to hammer out their respective standings.

Razor wins in a matchup with Birddog. He's relentless in his attack and would refuse to lose in his home state! WAR.............

Don't worry about me being inactive. I'm back training. I'm coming back and Sanchez and Lee are on the top of the list. Also does anyone know Matt Funk? I need that fight back BAD!. If anyone trains with or talks to Rich Layton, have him call Horn or respond on here or something because I want that fight back bad.

Sita R.

I'm just excited to see who you guys put next. It's about time somebody did this. I would love to see birddog and sharp fight. That would definatley pack the house.

At thecagenews.com meetings we are almost getting into fist fights while compiling the rankings for the next groups. But we will put them up before the end of the day. I have to admit I am a little surprised that more people have not disagreed with some of the rankings so far.

I have to agree with Stranger on the whole Sal being #1. He has been inactive for quite some time. I here he is on his way to a come back but until than he should slip down the ladder. IMO of course.

Jesus Herrera is now at LHW.

Your probably right about Shane...but not against anyone on this list!

I don't even think that Shane could get his arms around Martinez' neck!

"Shane Brenner can't beat any one in this weight class with a hurt knee..."

I don't know.....Shane's pretty tenacious. I could see him dragging himself across the cage, hitting a low level single, taking the back, and securing a rear naked on some guys.

Shane Brenner can't beat any one in this weight class with a hurt knee...may want to bump this guy until he can get back in the cage.

* I just saw "Note. Most of the top heavyweights have been inactive for a significant amount of time so this list is largely speculative"

Why does Sal Sanchez get the #1 spot in heavyweight when he has not fought in 4 years? I'm not trying to be a hater but he beats a couple people 4 years ago and gets the top spot on a list of the current top fighters? Is this a popularity contest? I would put Ty and Sita ahead of him just because they have actually competed recently. Watch any mma ranking list. Inactive fighters will constantly slip down the rankings. If this is how it is done then I want to be put on the LW or WW list. I have not fought in Utah for about 4 years either but I am undefeated here.

We will rate all the weight classes of course, and the pound for pound list will be fun to debate.

Oh nice then I agree with the list.

Marx is fighting at 145 now. So he wouldn't be listed with the 55'ers.
« Abstrakt wrote on Wednesday, Jul 16 at 03:03 PM »
I think Marx should be up there but it's a solid list. I want the birddog Razor fight to happen badly to solve that riddle. For now I have bird dog on top.

I personally feel like Razor and Birddog are the closest 1 and 2 of any weight class. But I put Razor number 1.
