 Constructive Criticism For Throwdown

The Throwdown event was great. Great fights. Good production and nice venue.Things to look at: Fight transition time: I felt the time between fights some times was too long. Also, maybe announce that the fighters are coming out as opposed to just starting up their music. There were several dead spots which killed the atmosphere for me. I like to feel like everything is flowing.Better organization: There were a few times it seemed that noone knew what was going to happen next. We would sit and wait to find out who was coming out or what was happening, but things kind of just happened. Having to throw out T-Shirts twice felt sloppy. Plus you might want to get a sling shot or people with really good arms to throw the shirts. The crowd was loud until they realized that those little cheerleaders weren’t going to be able to get a t-shirt passed the tables. Just some nit picky stuff that I think would really help out the promotion. Everybody leave something—let’s keep it constructive.

I can’t tell if he’s hitting him in the back of the head or not. How ever he doesn’t look

Unconscious to me, Unhappy about the position he was in yes but unconscious no.

I understand that the ref has a tough job and Throwdown s in tough position because it’s their show. But is it rely that hard to say “our guy messed up and was to aggressive and a fighter got hurt because of it”? I not sure if he had the first fight on his mind and he was a little on edge because of that he was a little aggressive or if that’s just his style but I think it would be nice to see a little accountability from Throwdown or the USAC. What kind a training to the refs get before they are certified to work fights?

The ref was in an awkward position. Ione was punching a downed fighter. The expecting the ref to tip-toe over and gently ask him to stop punching the other guy in the head (possibly back of the head) isn't realistic. In coming between two fighters, your primary job is to protect the one who is unconscious and being pummeled.

It just happened to end up in a strange position where Ione's shoulder was vulnerable.

When was the last time in a fight you saw a ref hurt a fighter? The last one I can think of was back in the day when Big John broke Brian Johnsons nose getting him off of a guy. You can call it crying if you want but when a fighter gets in the cage he shouldn’t have to worry about getting hurt by a over aggressive ref. Is it the ref job to protect the fighters? Yes but they need to protect both of them not just the one getting punched.

I think Dave did a good job and you guys need to quit crying.

The Ione stoppage was legitimate. Dave was protecting the unconscious fighter. Good refs make it there business to get between the two fighters. Unfortunately, Ione was at an akward angle from where Dave had to intervene.

As far as the lack of stand ups, while I feel that there needed to be more, I can understand why he didn't do so. I don't agree, but I can see why.

ionefan How long is he going to be out for? There is no need to stop a fight like that if the other kid would have been hit one more it would have been as bad as dislocating someone shoulder. Fight safety not trying to make a highlight reel stoppage.I hate it when refs in fighting or any sport try to become part of the show.

Dave the Ref dislocated my cousins arm that is bullshit what gives him the right to do that he needs to be accountable for it and sued!

Razor was greased up like a pig I saw the ref get mad and make him wipe it off it was all behind his neck. That is cheating anyway the judges were the ones who decided the fight however I do say the ref sucked

I don't think the ref was paid off or anything but I do have to say its weird that Dave wouldn't stand up that fight. Look at the photos same positions throughout the whole fight. Plus from down by the tables you could hear Dave and Razor talking back and forth about how "this isn't a boxing match" and Razor yells "it's not a fucking wrestling match either" I was rolling in my chair laughing. But Razor is right way too long on the ground with no push to finish the fight. I still think the ref is the one who gave that fight to Rad.

After that fight they said he threw out his shoulder in that big punch but if you look at the pics he only threw punches with the right and the left shoulder is the one injured. Clearly a victim of the ref.

How is the Kid that the ref err he punched so hard he broke or dislocated his shoulder?
« anonymous wrote on Tuesday, Sep 30 at 10:30 AM »
Throwdown actually went 6-3, with one of those loses the bullsh!t triagle call against travis something or other.
« Abstrakt Fists wrote on Tuesday, Sep 30 at 08:29 AM »
If the Show was rigged then how come most of the throwdown fighters lost? Also rigging it against Razor wouldn't make sense as he is the most marketable fighter in the state. If a promotion is going to rig a fight it will be rigged to make money Razor winning makes money not a lack of stand ups.

Change the rules to have yellow and red cards for stalling. Penalize fighters who are not trying to finish fights.

Get rid of the ref that tackled Simon. He should be suspended or fired by the athletic commision for hurting Simon's arm. There is no place for that in this sport and I am shocked that no one else is talking about this.

Make all women who attend the event that are under 130 lbs wear those red pants.

Let the fans choose one of the matchups for the event. That way if we don't like the matchup its our own fault

It's hard to keep it constructive when it's obvious Showdown The Return was rigged. The ref was definitely bought! I was disappointed with the way everything went down. It wasn't a Throwdown show but a THROWUP show.
